The three hens are producing a total of about 1 dozen eggs each week, as Summer settles into Fall. I’m considering adding a low wattage light bulb out into the chicken coop. Because, some hens require 14 hours of light exposure, to maintain regular egg production. A general internet search will surely yield a timetable for your area. My area daylight is listed by this group: http://www.mountaineers.org/seattle/climbing/Reference/DaylightHrs.html
These eggs are on the medium size –sometimes just into the large size range. The pullet only laid about 3 eggs that were small and she moved right into a consistent medium. She’s grown and is now almost as big as the larger Marans. I expect her eggs will increase in size. I’ll let you know.
